Painting in Maurice

Maurice is the small Vermilion Parish town on the road south from Lafayette toward Abbeville, an easy run inside our 45-minute range, with no trip fee.

Properties here often carry more than a house: fences, decks, porches, workshops and outbuildings, and plenty of metal roofs. That changes what a “painting” project means. Exterior wood wants stain-and-seal protection on the right cycle, and aging metal roofs are often better restored, fasteners replaced, seams and penetrations sealed, then coated, than left to rust.

So alongside interior and exterior house painting, our Maurice list leans on staining and sealing for decks, fences and porch wood, elastomeric and metal-roof coating work, and the soft washing that properly preps all of it in this climate.

Protecting wood and metal in Vermilion Parish weather

  1. 01

Stain on a cycle, not on failure

Decks and fences here gray and check fast under UV and humidity. Re-sealing on a regular cycle, before water stops beading on the surface, is dramatically cheaper than restoring wood that has already split and cupped.

  2. 02

A rusting metal roof is usually restorable

Surface rust, backed-out fasteners and weeping seams don’t automatically mean replacement. The restoration sequence (replace fasteners, seal seams and penetrations, then apply a reflective elastomeric coating) stops the leaks and cuts heat load, at a fraction of a new roof.

  3. 03

    Wash softly, not destructively

Mildewed siding and fences want a soft wash, not maximum pressure. High pressure drives water behind siding and furs up wood grain; the right chemistry at low pressure cleans without damage and leaves a surface a coating can bond to.
