Wood & Trim Finishing

Wood and trim finishing covers the detail work that frames a house: front doors, trim, and interior and exterior woodwork, painted, stained or refinished.

We also provide carpentry and woodwork, along with minor wood repairs, so damaged trim can be repaired before it is finished rather than just painted over.

Finish choice depends on the surface, the look you want, and your budget. We explain the options and what to expect from each.

Common questions

What products do you use?

It depends on the surface, the finish you want, and your budget. We review the recommended products with you, explain why they suit your project, and what to expect from the finish.

Should my front door be painted or stained?

Paint gives a solid color and covers wood that has been patched or previously painted; stain shows the grain, so it suits doors with wood worth showing off. Condition matters as much as looks. A weathered door needs sanding and prep either way, and we repair damaged wood before finishing it. We walk through both options at the consultation. If it’s decks, fences or other exterior wood you’re thinking about, see our staining and sealing service.

Are you insured?
