Painting in Scott
Much of the housing in and around Scott is classic Acadiana single-story stock: brick and siding homes with wood fascia, soffits and porch trim. On those houses the exterior list is rarely just paint: sun-side fascia boards and window trim take the brunt of the weather, and masonry walls need coatings that handle moisture correctly rather than seal it in.
So our Scott work leans on three things together: exterior repaints, the minor wood and trim repairs that come first, and masonry-appropriate coatings, with trim, doors and porch wood finished to match.

What single-story exteriors need here
- 01
Check fascia and soffits before pricing a repaint
On single-story homes the fascia line takes constant sun and roof-edge water. Soft or checked boards should be repaired before painting: coating over failing wood wastes the paint and hides the problem until it’s worse.
- 02
Painting brick is a one-way decision: make it with the right coating
Once brick is painted it will always need maintenance, so the first coat matters most: masonry needs a breathable, masonry-rated coating so the wall can release moisture. The wrong product traps it and can spall the face of the brick.
- 03
Gloss level does real work on trim
Trim, doors and fascia in this climate do best in a harder, higher-sheen enamel than the walls: it sheds water, wipes clean and survives the repeated sun-and-rain cycle at the roof line.
